Position Summary

The Instructor Aide position is an in-scope position reporting to the Adult Basic Education Facilitator.  The incumbent will assist the Adult Basic Education Instructor in provision of assistance to students.

 

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Facilitate the learning of students in the Adult Basic Education program
  • Assist the instructor
  • Maintain progress and attendance records as required
  • Assist the instructor to provide services to students
  • Maintain instructional and student materials
  • Work cooperatively in an interdependent team environment
  • Apply policies and regulations adopted by Carlton Trail Regional College

 

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Good communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with individuals with special learning needs
  • Ability to work with people from equity groups
  • Ability to organize time effectively
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, colleagues, support services and agencies

 

Education
  • Grade 12 (Saskatchewan) with one year of related, relevant post-secondary training

 

Experience
  • Experience in a classroom setting (minimum of 2 years)
  • Training or experience in adult education is considered an asset.

Position Summary

 

The successful candidate will have a three or four year degree in the field of Human services or related field, a Bachelor of Education degree would be considered an asset with a minimum of two years teaching experience working with adults or substantial experience in a related instructional position. Will provide instruction to students in the Employability Skills program (PRE 10) being held on reserve. Good organizational skills and the ability to be flexible are essential as is the ability to be an effective member of an instructional team.

POSITION SUMMARY
 
The Office Education Instructor position is an in-scope position reporting to the Academic Studies Coordinator. The incumbent will provide instruction in the Office Education program.
 

Duties and Responsibilities
 
  • Provide instruction in the program according to curriculum outline
  • Manage the classroom to ensure an optimum learning environment
  • Plan and deliver learning activities that reflect the values, beliefs, needs and contributions of a culturally diverse community
  • Provide appropriate evaluation, assessment and feedback to students
  • Maintain records of achievement, attendance and other student-related information and report such information as required
  • Identify resources and equipment appropriate to support curriculum/course implementation
  • Be reflective of and responsive to accommodation of special learning needs, including equity groups and diverse learners
  • Be flexible and responsive to learner needs through the use of appropriate instructional methodologies
  • Respond to curriculum/course demands and make necessary adjustments according to learner needs
  • Engage learners in learning activities designed to strengthen ties to work and/or career development
  • Develop working relationships with appropriate external partners and employers supporting students in work experience
  • Pursue professional development opportunities to keep current with employer and educational requirements

  • Two or more years teaching experience.
  • Training or experience in adult education is considered an asset.
